The Minute Madness Second Chance Contest is ON!

The tripod is about to move! Wish you had another chance at a jackpot? For the second year, the Kuskokwim Ice Classic is offering a second guessing opportunity in addition to the regular Ice Classic we know and love. The Ice Classic is introducing the Minute Madness Ice Classic, a secondary contest under the Kuskokwim Ice Classic umbrella. This is year second chance for Ice Classic fun!

FAST FACTS:

  • Only 60 minutes available- one for each minute of the hour.
  • Tickets are $250 each.
  • Pools are allowed.
  • An individual or the pool who purchases a ticket for a minute owns that specific minute.
  • Minute owners have a 1-in-60 chance to win every hour.
  • Tickets available beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20; sales end when all minutes are sold OR the day before breakup occurs (whichever happens first).
  • The winner(s) earn 2/3 of the jackpot raised.

Participants have a second chance at their luck during the Kuskokwim Ice Classic breakup season with the Minute Madness, a ⅔ split-the-pot game to guess the minute of the hour that the tripod will stop the clock in the Ice Classic shack. The Minute Madness jackpot is completely separate from the traditional Kuskokwim Ice Classic jackpot of $12,500.

With the Minute Madness secondary contest, there will be 60 guesses for sale, one for each minute on the clock. That means EVERY HOUR there is a chance to win on your lucky minute! Each slot is priced at $250. Once a slot is purchased, the customer “owns” that minute– no other person can guess that same minute. The winner will take ⅔ of the total jackpot. If all slots are purchased, participants have a one-in-sixty chance to win. Pool with your family, friends, coworkers, or roommates to purchase a minute!

The winner is determined by the person or pool who guesses the exact minute of breakup. The Second Chance is only based on the minute of breakup– not the month, date or hour. If no one has guessed the exact minute of breakup, the next closest minute on either side of the exact minute will be the winning time. In the event of multiple winners, the pot will be split accordingly.

Tickets will be available via phone or in person beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018. Purchase locations are at AC value center Friday, April 20th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 21st from noon to 3 pm. We expect the 60 guesses to be sold quickly, so don’t delay! Beginning Monday, April 23 people can purchase a ticket in person at Bethel Community Services Foundation (BCSF) anytime. For people living outside Bethel, tickets may be purchased by calling the Ice Classic sales phone number at 907-545-8483. Minute Madness second chance tickets must be purchased the DAY before breakup occurs in order to be eligible to win. Any guesses submitted the same day breakup occurs will be invalidated and refunded. If all 60 tickets are sold, the sales period ends.
